Bishkek, Feb. 23, 2026. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Parliament Marlen Mamataliev received the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Saidikram Niyazhodzhaev. According to parliament press service, the meeting discussed issues of enhancing political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries, and also touched upon the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Speaker Marlen Mamataliev said that Kyrgyzstan is interested in deepening strategic partnership with Uzbekistan. He noted that the close relations of the heads of state and mutual visits will raise cooperation to a new level.
Marlen Mamataliev noted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, noting that joint work within the CIS and TURKPA continues fruitfully. He also briefly spoke about the work of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation, emphasizing the importance of this platform in expanding relations.
In turn, Ambassador Saidikram Niyazhkhodzhaev congratulated Marlen Mamataliev on his election as Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh and conveyed greetings from the Chairwoman of the Senate of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and the Chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismoilov.
In addition, Saidikram Niyazhkhodzhaev, who noted that Uzbekistan pays special attention to the development of Kyrgyzstan and welcomes its achievements, shared his plans for the development of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the embassy's activities.
