Speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament met with Azerbaijani ambassador

Bishkek, March 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliev received the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Latif Gandilov.

According to the parliament, during the meeting, they discuss the development of political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties and deepening of interparliamentary interaction.

Mamataliev noted that deepening cooperation with fraternal Azerbaijan is one of the priority areas of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy.

"The warm relations between the heads of state contribute to the expansion of political dialogue, and our relations are currently actively developing in all areas." In particular, bilateral visits are regularly organized, during which important agreements are signed. Now we need to strengthen the existing interparliamentary cooperation to successfully implement all agreements,” he said.

Speaker emphasized Jogorku Kenesh's readiness to closely collaborate with the Milli Majlis.

“We need to actively continue contacts at the level of relevant committees and friendship groups, as parliamentary diplomacy is of particular importance in developing the strategic partnership between the two countries,” Mamataliev added.

Ambassador Gandilov provided a detailed account of the projects being implemented between the two republics, including investment activities carried out through the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund.

He reported that the fund's authorized capital has been increased to $100 million, and these funds are being directed toward major projects on an interest-free basis.

At the same time, the parties discussed joint work in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, and discussed interparliamentary cooperation within international organizations.
