Bishkek, Sept.19, 2026 /Kabar/. The opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games took place today in Nagoya, Japan, the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The event featured a parade of athletes from Asian countries. Athletes from the Kyrgyzstan national team also took part in the ceremonial parade, carrying the country's national flag.
The opening ceremony included a concert program and a show.
Kyrgyzstan is participating in the 20th Asian Games across 30 sports. In total, the country is represented by 168 athletes and 58 coaches.
Additionally, the Kyrgyz delegation includes 7 doctors and massage therapists who provide medical care and recovery support to the athletes. The competitions will run until October 4.
