Bishkek, Sept. 16, 2026 /Kabar/. According to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 9,102,729 foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for tourism in January-August, UzA reported.
This figure was 1.6 million higher than in the same period last year. On average, more than 1.1 million foreign tourists visited the country each month. More than 2.5 million tourists arrived from Kyrgyzstan, over 2.1 million from Kazakhstan, and more than 2 million from Tajikistan. Together, these three countries accounted for about 74 percent of total tourist arrivals.
Russia ranked fourth in arrivals, with 867.7 thousand tourists. Uzbekistan also received 329.6 thousand visitors from Afghanistan, 318.5 thousand from China, 224.8 thousand from Turkmenistan, 130.1 thousand from Türkiye, 39.5 thousand from India, and 32.2 thousand from Germany.
The data show Uzbekistan has significant potential to boost tourist arrivals not just from neighboring countries, but also from Europe.
