Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2026 /Kabar/. On January 25, 2026, Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev inspected the progress of construction work on Bishkek's Northern Bypass Road. According to Ministry of Transport, in order to create convenient conditions for citizens and prevent traffic congestion, three two-level interchanges located at km 230-236 of the Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent highway were temporarily opened to traffic. However, asphalt paving will resume with the arrival of spring.

Currently, the contractor building the first six-lane highway is continuing excavation work on the remaining sections, adhering to winter construction regulations.

Syrgabaev instructed that special attention be paid to the quality of construction and adherence to the approved work schedule.

Ministry of Transport noted that the total length of Bishkek's Northern Bypass Road is 33.4 km. This year, reconstruction of 15 km of the road is planned for completion, including 6 km of the Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent highway and 9.1 km of the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart highway.
