Bishkek, March 14, 2025. /Kabar /. Turkey has expressed its satisfaction with the agreement on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in its statement.
“We welcome the border delimitation agreement signed between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on 13 March.
We expect that this agreement, concluded as a result of the close dialogue between the two countries at the highest level, will contribute to peace, stability and cooperation in the region,” it said.
Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon signed an agreement on the state border between the two countries on Thursday.The signing ceremony was held in Bishkek during Rahmon's state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, a ceremony was held to resume the work of two checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. The presidents of the two countries took part in the ceremony via video link.
The border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was closed after an armed border conflict in May 2021.
