Uzbekistan hosts Melon Festival in Khiva

The International Melon Festival is held annually in Khiva, an ancient and eternally young city, the pearl of the East, UzA reports.

Cultural programs, theatrical skits, folklore ensemble concerts, national costume displays, and melon crop and national dish exhibitions were showcased. Local and foreign tourists can taste the famous and fragrant Khorezm melons.

More than 1.5 million guests are expected to attend the three-day festival.

Performances by foreign and Uzbek artists were held.
