Bishkek, July 28, 2026 /Kabar/. Every year on July 28, Kyrgyzstan marks World Hepatitis Day to draw attention to the problem of viral hepatitis and once again remind people that these diseases can be prevented, detected, and treated promptly. Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Gulbara Ishenapysova told at press conference in Kabar.
According to her, the fight against viral hepatitis is one of the priority areas of state healthcare policy.
"Our goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn their status, receive timely medical care, and maintain their health," emphasized Gulbara Ishenapyssova.
She noted that the World Health Organization has set a goal to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030. Kyrgyzstan supports this initiative and is consistently working to achieve this goal.
She explained that the state currently provides:
- free rapid testing before vaccination and free vaccination against viral hepatitis B,
- free screening,
- free treatment for viral hepatitis.
