Bishkek, Aug 11, 2026 /Kabar/. Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Marlen Mamataliev participated in the 2nd Forum of Young Parliamentarians of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in Cholpon-Ata.
According to the parliament's press service, the event, under the motto "Youth – On the Path to Common Progress and Peace!", was attended by members of parliament from both countries, representatives of progressive youth and public organizations, and experts, including Deputy Speaker of Kyrgyzstan Meder Aliyev, and members of parliament Tabyldy Muratbekov, Maksat Alymbekov, Erkeiym Seitkazieva, Bekmyrza Cholponbaev, Adilet Belekov, and Ilimbek Kubanychbekov.
In his speech, the speaker emphasized the importance of the forum, emphasizing the historical, cultural, and spiritual affinities between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. According to Marlen Mamataliev, in recent years, thanks to the strong political will of the two heads of state, Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations have reached a qualitatively new level.
"Interparliamentary interaction is also actively developing, becoming a strong foundation for bilateral cooperation. Our task now is to pass on these achievements to the younger generation and strengthen our friendship through concrete actions and joint initiatives," he emphasized.
Marlen Mamataliev noted the need for ongoing cooperation between young parliamentarians of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, not limited to one-off events.
"Young people are not only the future of our countries; they are also active participants in ongoing development. Including their voice in government decision-making ensures that policies meet the needs of society and increases trust in democratic institutions," said the Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh.
During the forum, participants discussed issues of further strengthening cooperation between young parliamentarians of the two countries, enhancing the role of youth in socio-political processes, and supporting joint initiatives. Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of continuing ongoing dialogue and exchange of experience between young parliamentarians.
