Bishkek, April 14, 2025. /Kabar/. The 10th International Student Theatre Festival "Zhany Ysymdar" (New Names) will be held in Bishkek on April 15 - 18, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy reported.
This year, the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary and brings together young theatre-goers from Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Azerbaijan. The participants include students of theatre schools, aspiring actors, directors, playwrights, critics and masters of artistic recitation.
Winners will be determined in 10 nominations, including "Best Performance", "Best Direction", "Artistic Reading" and "Mentor of Creative Youth". The winners will receive diplomas and cash prizes.
The festival is held on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Kyrgyz National University of Culture and Arts named after Beishenalieva and the Union of Theatre Workers of Kyrgyzstan.
"Zhany Ysymdar" has been held since 2016 and during this time has become a significant platform for creative growth and professional development of young specialists in the field of performing arts. Since 2022, the project has received international status. One of the key objectives of the event remains the development of cultural exchange between specialized educational institutions of the participating countries.
