12-year education: More than 40 thousand teachers trained in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 1, 2026. /Kabar/. Large-scale work on improving the qualifications of teachers as part of the transition to 12-year education system in Kyrgyzstan has been completed. Ministry of education reports.

According to information, total of 40 thousand 420 teachers across the country underwent special courses in the 2025-2026 academic year. 28 thousand 913 teachers were involved in targeted training under the new system. 10,334 teachers from primary schools, 7,651 from natural sciences, 5,727 from English, and 5,352 from mathematics received training.

Nine international trainers from Singapore provided quality training for teachers, who conducted 36 online sessions for Kyrgyz specialists.

"105 courses have been updated according to the new curricula and placed on the online platform "Ustat" (ustat.edu.gov.kg). More than 10,000 teachers are currently studying there. Currently, work is underway to award certificates to teachers who have successfully completed their training and to prepare special video lessons to assist teachers in grades 1–2," the report says.
