Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. Kazakh wrestling matches are being held at the Gazprom Physical Education and Health Complex in Cholpon-Ata as part of the VI World Nomad Games.
As the President of the Kazakh Wrestling Federation Mirlan Eraliyev told Kabar agency, 31 countries are participating in Kazakh wrestling at the World Nomad Games. A total of 60 athletes are competing.
“Today, 3 Kyrgyz athletes are participating in Kazakh wrestling. In the 60 kg weight category — Kemal Onolbekov, in the 82 kg weight category — Baybol. In the superweight category — Almaz uulu Orozbek is fighting. Preparations are very good. We have held training sessions. Now our guy Oroz has defeated an athlete from Bahrain. Now, I think, they will face a Korean wrestler. We are trying to hold our honor and raise the Kyrgyz flag high — the entire federation, our athletes,” he said.
As Mirlan Eraliyev noted, the second round of Kazakh wrestling is now underway. There are 3 more rounds. The final matches will be held at noon. The winners will be determined then.
