Bishkek, Oct. 28, 2025 /Kabar/. In order to ensure high-quality data collection, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to postpone the census to the period from March 20 to April 10, 2026, Cabinet of Ministers reported. Previously, the next agricultural census in the country was scheduled to be held from November 1 to 20, 2025.

The agricultural census is conducted once every 10 years and is a large-scale nationwide statistical event aimed at obtaining complete, objective, and reliable information on the state and structure of the country's agriculture. The collected data will become a key tool for developing effective agrarian policies, ensuring food security, and the sustainable development of rural areas.

The census will provide accurate data on the following indicators:

  • number and structure of agricultural enterprises and farms of all forms of ownership;
  • types and volumes of agricultural production;
  • availability of land, labor, and material resources;
  • livestock and poultry numbers;
  • features of farming and the level of mechanization.

All organizational and methodological work to prepare for the census began in 2024, and pilot events were also held in two districts. The completion of the census is planned for March 2026.
