Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2026. /Kabar/. Agricultural census will be conducted in Kyrgyzstan from March 20 to April 10, 2026. The decision to postpone the census to March 20 to April 10, 2026, was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic late last year to ensure high-quality and reliable data collection.
Zainidin Zhumaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee, and Baktybek Orozbaev, chief specialist of the statistical census and geoinformation systems department of the National Statistical Committee, spoke on Birinchi Radio about the importance of the census and how it will be conducted.
According to representatives of the National Statistical Committee, the agricultural census is a large-scale national statistical exercise aimed at obtaining complete, objective, and up-to-date information on the state and structure of the country's agriculture. The main goal of the census is to create a reliable statistical base for developing effective public policies and programs to support the agricultural sector. The collected data will become a key tool for ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural development in Kyrgyzstan.
Zainidin Zhumaliyev emphasized that the agricultural census is conducted every 10 years. The last time it was conducted was in 2003, so the upcoming census will provide up-to-date data on the state of the sector. Following the event, the results will be published on the website of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Baktybek Orozbaev, in turn, noted that national and district commissions were established as part of the preparatory work. "The agricultural census will be conducted electronically." The Republican Commission approved four census forms: rural districts, state farms, private subsidiary farms, peasant farms, and summer cottages," he said.
