Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. On November 3, the 6th "Korkut Ata" Turkic World Film Festival opened in Istanbul with the feature film "Aitmatov."
According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the film was directed by young filmmaker Kanybek Kalmatov.
The movie depicts the childhood of the great writer, his creative journey, and his contributions to world literature.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TURKSOY and a People's Writer of Kyrgyzstan, as well as actors Arina Isakova and Abylai Marat uulu, who played the lead roles in the film.
The festival will continue until November 7.
