Around 80 volunteer applications submitted for 6th World Nomad Games

Bishkek, March 30, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is continuing to recruit volunteers for the 6th World Nomad Games, with applications being submitted both domestically and from Kyrgyz citizens living abroad.

According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Timurdan Azhymaliev, around 80 applications have been received so far from individuals wishing to join the volunteer program. He made the statement during a meeting of a committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.

“All applications are currently under review, and a final selection will be made in due course,” Azhymaliev noted.

The World Nomad Games are an international cultural and sporting event first held in 2014 at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic. Kyrgyzstan developed the concept and initiated the Games, which aim to preserve, develop, and promote ethnic sports and the traditional culture of the world's nomadic peoples.

The sixth World Nomad Games will be held in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6. The upcoming edition is expected to bring together participants from over 90 countries.

More than 3,000 athletes from over 100 countries are expected to participate. The Games program includes 43 ethnosports, as well as cultural and scientific events. The Games' slogan is "Unity of Strength! Unity of Spirit!"

The Games aim to preserve and promote the heritage of nomadic civilizations while strengthening international cooperation and tourism.
