Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2025 / Kabar /. Astana Media Week 2025, has opened in the capital of Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
The country' largest annual media and communications forum, has been opened with a welcoming address from Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva, who emphasized the particular importance of artificial intelligence, one of the key topics on the forum's agenda.
"Astana Media Week has become an important professional platform for exchanging experiences and ideas, as well as for shaping a new architecture for the global media space. This is not just a forum, but a symbol of the unity of a professional community open to change and new ideas. It is here that the future of domestic and global journalism is shaped," the minister noted.
This year, the forum brought together 65 speakers from Kazakhstan and other countries. The program includes eight panel and dialogue sessions, seven master classes, and two awards ceremonies.
The forum, now in its eighth year, traditionally brings together representatives of state, independent, and new media, as well as international media.
The forum began with a plenary session, "New Landmarks of Journalism in the Era of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence: Public Trust and Development," with a welcoming address by Kanat Iskakov, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event will be followed by a panel discussion, "Journalism at a Crossroads: The Birth of Digital Media with AI," where experts from Kazakhstan and Turkiye will share their practical experiences in implementing artificial intelligence technologies in editorial work.
The forum will last three days and provides a platform for discussing key challenges facing the media market, the role of media in consolidating society, and the impact of new technologies on the development of journalism.
