Athletes and guests from at least 100 countries are expected to participate in the 2026 World Nomad Games, which will be held in the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Cabinet head and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry said during an off-site meeting devoted to preparations for the 2026 Nomad Games, which was held at the hippodrome in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Region.
During the meeting, preparations for this global cultural and sporting event were discussed, including the progress of organizational work, the state of infrastructure facilities, and the conditions for hosting foreign guests.
According to available information, the prize fund for the cultural games will be approximately 4 million soms. In addition, all major types of national and equestrian sports are planned. These competitions aim to broadly present the nomadic culture, traditions, and historical heritage of the Kyrgyz people to the global community. During his working visit, Bakyt Torobaev inspected the current state of the hippodrome in Cholpon-Ata and gave specific instructions to enhance preparatory work, improve infrastructure, and create conditions in line with international standards. He instructed the relevant state and local authorities to ensure high-quality preparations within the established timeframe.
The World Nomad Games will be held in the Kyrgyz Republic from August 31 to September 6, 2026. This event is intended to significantly enhance the country's tourism potential, promote national culture, and expand international cooperation.
