Bishkek, April 3, 2026. /Kabar/. Climate change in Kyrgyzstan has become not a prediction, but a reality. Over the past 60 years, the average annual temperature in the country has increased by about 1.2 degrees. This is twice the world average, Zhibek Kadoeva, the leading specialist of the Main Department for Ecology and Climate Policy reports.

As she noted, the last few years have been very warm.

"We are observing this from floods, droughts and extreme weather phenomena," she added.

According to her, about 200 emergencies occur annually, 90% of which are related to climatic factors.

“This affects the economy, population security, key sectors such as agriculture and water resources. We usually receive this information from Kyrgyzhydromet,” said Zhibek Kadoeva.
