Last year, 14 million 261.4 thousand tons of cargo were transported by rail, 11 million 46.1 thousand tons by road, and 7 million 229.7 thousand tons by sea in transport corridors, AzerTAG reported.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of cargo transported via the East-West transport corridor amounted to 16 million 909.8 thousand tons, including 8 million 173.2 thousand tons via the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor, 9 million 289 thousand tons through the North-South transport corridor, 5 million 804.8 thousand tons through the North-West transport corridor, and 533.6 thousand tons through the South-West transport corridor.
Transit cargo accounted for 46.2 percent, 42.3 percent, and 93.3 percent of the total cargo transported by rail, road, and sea, respectively.
