China ready to strengthen exchanges and co-op with political parties and media outlets from neighboring countries

Beijing, Sept. 15, 2025 / Kabar /. Participants of the seminar “New Media, New Life” - more than 20 leaders of political parties and media organisations from neighbouring countries of China met with Sun Haiyan, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Sunday in Beijing.

Sun emphasized that China and its neighbours are linked by land and sea, share joys and sorrows, and have always attached great importance to developing relations with neighboring countries. She stressed that China upholds the principles of goodwill, sincerity, and inclusiveness, and is committed to building a community with a shared future with its neighbours.

China, she said, is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with political parties and media outlets from neighboring countries, enhance their ability to guide public opinion and communicate with the public, and work together to tackle the challenges of disinformation. Sun added that young media professionals can gain a deeper and more objective understanding of China through exchanges and friendship, and help present a real and multidimensional picture of the country to their people.

The participants of the seminar praised China’s foreign policy and practices toward its neighbors. They expressed readiness to enhance experience-sharing and cooperation with Chinese media, jointly address challenges of the information age such as fake news,and promote mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the region and China. They also pledged to safeguard regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity together.

Participants of the seminar also discussed challenges of disinformation, combating fake news and explored possible solutions.

The seminar, themed “New Media, New Life,” was organised by the International Department of the CPC.
