Bishkek discusses Kyrgyzstan’s upcoming work on UN Security Council

Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2026 /Kabar/. Consultations between Kyrgyzstan and the UK regarding the UN Security Council agenda took place in Bishkek today, involving the heads of the relevant departments from the two countries' foreign ministries.

According to the Foreign Ministry's press service, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation and exchanged views on pressing international issues, including the Security Council's work priorities and specific aspects of its activities.

Particular attention was paid to Kyrgyzstan's preparations for its upcoming membership in the UN Security Council for the 2027–2028 term, as well as to cooperation with the Council's member states.

Following the consultations, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive and substantive cooperation within the framework of the UN.
