Bishkek, March 23, 2026. /Kabar/. The Bishkek City Drama Theater named after Arsen Umuraliev will participate in the 8th International Theater Festival "Samsun," which will be held from March 23 to 31, 2026, in Turkiye. The festival, timed to coincide with International Theater Day, will bring together public, private, and amateur theater companies from various countries.

As part of the festival program, on March 27, the theater will present the season's premiere: the tragicomic parable "Takteke," based on the work of Kyyalbek Urmanbetov, Kyrgyz poet.

The production reveals the philosophical story of a man who has lost harmony with nature and faces internal contradictions. The play seamlessly intertwines elements of ancient epic poetry with modern artistic forms, combining profound meaning with lively humor.

It is noted that "Takteke" has already received acclaim from audiences in Bishkek and will now be presented to the festival's international audience.
