Issyk-Kul, Sept. 2, 2026 /Kabar/. As part of the celebrations for the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence, 20 yurts have been erected in the Kyrchyn Gorge of Bishkek's ethno-village, 16 of which have a distinct theme. Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev told Kabar.

According to him, the Manas epic poem was the main theme for this year's yurts' decoration.
"Bishkek is the capital of the country, so we took the theme of Manas epic and showed the history of our people through the epic. Each yurt has a historical focus. Nothing foreign or modern was brought in, only the cultural heritage of our people," noted Dzhunushaliev.
He also spoke about the program of events, which includes the national games.
