Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2026 /Kabar/. On October 5, as part of a working visit to Tbilisi, a meeting took place between Bishkek Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliev and Tbilisi Deputy Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze.
According to the Bishkek City Hall, the parties discussed prospects for developing practical cooperation between the two capitals, as well as the exchange of experience regarding urban infrastructure, public transport, the improvement of public spaces, and urban environment development.
Ramiz Aliev noted the high level of Tbilisi's urban infrastructure and emphasized Bishkek's interest in studying Tbilisi's experience, particularly regarding the modernization of the transport system and the enhancement of the urban environment.
Special attention was paid to the issue of establishing sister-city ties between Bishkek and Tbilisi. The parties noted the positive momentum in their relationship and expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation. As part of the working visit, the Kyrgyz delegation also took part in the festivities marking "Tbilisoba 2026." Representatives from Bishkek congratulated the leadership and residents of Tbilisi on the holiday and commended the high standard of the cultural program, as well as the city's commitment to preserving its historical and cultural heritage.
A specific focus of the visit was examining Tbilisi’s experience with cable car transport. The Bishkek delegation met with representatives of the Austrian company Doppelmayr, which had participated in cable car projects in Tbilisi. The parties discussed potential cooperation regarding the development of a cable car project in Bishkek.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation and the exchange of practical experience in order to implement specific joint initiatives.
