Bishkek to host 2nd Toon Dook International Animation Festival

Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2026 /Kabar/. The 2nd International Animation Festival "Toon Dook" will take place in Bishkek from October 9 to 11.

According to the culture ministry, the festival will bring together creators from Kyrgyzstan and abroad, industry professionals, students in creative fields, and fans of animation.

Toon Dook serves as an international platform for showcasing animated works, facilitating professional exchange, and supporting young creators. The festival aims to develop the animation sector and creative industries as a whole, strengthen international cultural ties, and promote contemporary animation. The festival program includes screenings of animated works from Kyrgyzstan and other countries, masterclasses, lectures, creative meet-ups, and discussions on current trends and the future of animation.

Invited international experts include Canadian director and animator Robert Valley (known for his work on the Netflix project *Love, Death & Robots*), Annegret Richter (Artistic Director of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film/ITFS), and French animation director Jean-Christophe Roger.

"The festival will place special emphasis on supporting young creators and developing the animation industry in Central Asia. Participants will have the opportunity to present their projects, receive professional feedback from experts, and establish new creative and professional connections," the statement reads.
