Bishkek to host Indian Cinema Days

Bishkek, March 10, 2026 /Kabar/. The Embassy of India in Bishkek, together with the Department of Cinematography and the State Film Center "Kyrgyztasmasy," is organizing the 2nd Indian Cinema Days.

According to the Indian Embassy, ​​the opening ceremony and a vibrant Bollywood-style dance show, "Rhythms of Bollywood," performed by the Kauhar Folk Dance Ensemble, will be held at the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater on March 14, 2026.

The Days of Indian Cinema will be held at the Cinema House in Bishkek on March 15 - 18, 2026.

The program includes the following Indian films:

March 15, 2026, starting at 12:00 PM: "Mary Kom" (Hindi, Russian dubbing). A chronicle of the life of Indian boxer Mary Kom, who endured many hardships before boldly achieving her cherished dream.

March 16, 2026, 12:00 PM: Run Milkha Run (Hindi, Russian dubbing). The truth about Milkha Singh's journey to success, a victim of the partition of India and Pakistan.

March 17, 2026, 12:00 PM: Bumba's Journey (Assamese, Russian subtitles). The film tells the story of a small primary school where the teachers' main task is to save the school, as it only has one student named Bumba.

March 18, 2026, 12:00 PM: Commander (Marathi, Russian subtitles): A film about a 14-year-old boy known for his powerful voice. He enjoys walking in front of the troop and pretending he's leading the parade. One day, he finds himself at school rehearsing for the Republic Day parade. There, the boy attracts attention with his powerful voice and is invited to join the parade. Compete for the position of parade commander.

The film screenings are free, and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Cinema House, starting at 12:00 PM daily.

The Indian Film Days are organized with the support of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) of India.
