Bishkek, Feb 5, 2026 /Kabar/. From February 2 to 20, 2026, the Ministry of Defense, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education, is conducting career guidance in secondary general and secondary vocational educational institutions throughout the country.

According to the Ministry of Defense, this work is aimed at strengthening the system of military-patriotic education of young people, fostering an informed choice of future profession, and increasing students' interest in military service and training at military educational institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic and abroad. "When choosing a military career, those who have completed 9th grade can enroll in the Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum (KNVL), while graduates of schools, lyceums, colleges, and the KNVL have real opportunities for further education at the Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic or foreign military educational institutions," the department emphasized.

It is noted that cadets from Kyrgyzstan are currently studying at more than 30 military educational institutions in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and China, as well as at the only Military Institute of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek.

"In recent years, the prestige of the officer profession has increased significantly, in part due to the strengthening of material and social guarantees for military service by the state. Cadets of higher military educational institutions receive a high-quality higher education free of charge and are fully supported by the state," the statement says.

Graduates of military educational institutions are guaranteed a diploma of higher education in their chosen specialty and mandatory employment. Specialists with this level of training are in demand not only in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, but also in the civilian sector.
