Bishkek, Dec.18, 2025. /Kabar/. Construction of new water reservoir has begun in the Moscow district of Chui oblast, Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry reports.

According to the information, the total volume of the basin is 4.5 million cubic meters. After the facility is put into operation, water supply to 6,500 hectares of arable land included in the Ak-Suu irrigation system will be improved, and the efficiency of agricultural production in the region will significantly increase. The length of the basin is 2,661 meters, and its height is 23.5 meters. Construction work is to be completed in 2029.

The total cost of the project is 1.3 billion soms and will be financed from the state budget.

It is worth noting that in order to rationally and effectively use the country's water resources, it is planned to build 106 daily and decadal regulating basins in the country between 2024 and 2030. Today, construction work is actively underway on 11 of them.
