Bishkek, March 4, 2025. /Kabar/. 2.8 thousand crimes were registered in Kyrgyzstan in January 2025, which is 12.6 percent less than in January 2024, according to data of the National Statistics Committee.
399 serious and especially serious crimes were committed, which is 22.4 percent less than in January 2024. The bulk of the crimes were crimes against property, which accounted for 70%.
In January of this year, the number of crimes against the person in the republic as a whole decreased by 9.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
At the same time, the number of crimes causing less serious bodily harm increased by 39.1 percent, while the number of rapes decreased by 1.6 times, causing serious bodily harm by 16.7 percent and murders by 13.3 percent.
The decrease in the number of crimes against property compared to January 2024 by 12.5 percent is due to a decrease in the number of cases of extortion - by 1.8 times, fraud - by 14.9 percent, robbery - by 13.4 percent, theft - by 13.1 percent, while the number of robbery cases increased by 28.6 percent.
A significant decrease in the number of crimes related to drug trafficking was noted (by 2.1 times). The largest share of such crimes (more than 54 percent) is related to the possession of drugs for the purpose of their sale and the possession of drugs without the purpose of sale (more than 44 percent).
In January 2025, 147 crimes committed in public places were registered, of which the largest number were thefts (33.3 percent), hooliganism (12.2 percent) and robbery (8.8 percent). In January 2025, 1,231 people who committed crimes were identified, which is 1.5 times more than in the same period in 2024. Of this total, women accounted for 13.4 percent, minors - 9.7 percent, and 72.2 percent of them did not work or study anywhere.
