Bishkek, March 14, 2025. /Kabar /. Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temirbek Erkinov met with US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Lesslie Viguerie in Bishkek on Wednesday.
According to the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation, migration policy, the need to deepen cooperation and interaction in the IT sector, as well as prospects for financing joint projects were discussed.
The deputy minister noted the importance of strengthening trade and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and the United States. In particular, the topic of increasing the supply of Kyrgyz products to the US market, including honey, dried fruits and other agricultural products, was touched upon. Measures to facilitate trade procedures to simplify mutual supplies and improve business conditions were also discussed.
Ambassador Viguerie emphasized the significant potential of the country's tourism industry, which is of interest to the American market due to its unique natural and cultural attractions.
In addition, the meeting discussed the prospects for financing infrastructure and investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, including in the field of mining and processing of critical minerals. Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and joint work to promote mutually beneficial initiatives in the areas of economics, trade and investment.
