Bishkek, May 18, 2026. /Kabar/. The agreement on permissible weights, axle loads, and dimensions of vehicles traveling on the highways of EAEU member states included in Eurasian Transport Corridors has entered into force, the EEC reports.
As Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister of Energy and Infrastructure noted, the agreement will play an important role in reducing transportation costs and streamlining freight flows.
"This ensures the technological uniformity of more than 14,000 kilometers of EAEU highways. Previously, due to differences in weight and dimensions, carriers were forced to forego optimal loading." "Now businesses will be able to deliver cargo along Eurasian transport corridors without having to split shipments or transfer some of the cargo to another vehicle," he said.
Kozhoshev emphasized that carriers will also no longer need to obtain an additional special permit, which was previously required if lower weight and dimension parameters were in effect in one of the countries.
The EEC states that the agreement has eliminated another obstacle in the Union's internal market and brought the creation of a common market for transport services closer.
