Bishkek, March 11, 2025. /Kabar/. Every year, Kyrgyzstan imports over 2 million flowers from Kenya, Ecuador and Holland. And over the past 5 years, the number of flower shops in the country has doubled.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry advises domestic entrepreneurs to start growing flowers.
According to the department, there are several areas of flower: to grow cut flowers or flowering plants in warehouses (as gifts), and also sell seeds, bulbs and seedlings of ornamental plants.
Each method has great potential, but the best result can be achieved by combining both.
The most popular flowers are roses, carnations, lilies, chrysanthemums and tulips. When growing these flowers, it should be taken into account that the demand for flowers is uneven.
And fall, late winter and early spring are good times to plan to grow lots of these flowers.
