Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2026. /Kabar/. The exhibition "Roerich, Messenger of Beauty. Master, Son of the Master" from the N.K. Roerich Center-Museum will open at 3:00 PM on February 26 at the Gapar Aitiev Museum of Fine Arts.
According to the museum, the exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Nicholas Roerich's Central Asian expedition and the 100th anniversary of Lyudmila Shaposhnikova, founder of the International Center of the Roerichs (Moscow).
Svyatoslav Nikolaevich Roerich, a world-renowned artist, scholar, and public figure, donated the priceless legacy of his parents, the Roerichs, from India to their homeland in 1989 and founded the N.K. Roerich Center-Museum in Moscow. Lyudmila Shaposhnikova became his confidant and the museum's permanent director.
Lyudmila Vasilievna Shaposhnikova is a renowned orientalist, writer, philosopher, and traveler, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, a laureate of the International Jawaharlal Nehru Prize, an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS), the Tsiolkovsky Russian Academy of Cosmonautics, an Honorary Doctor of the St. Kliment Ohridski University, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. She was also the permanent General Director (1990–2015) of the N.K. Roerich Museum.
