Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2026 /Kabar/. On the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Oana-Silvia Țoiu.
The parties discussed current issues regarding Kyrgyz-Romanian cooperation and prospects for further strengthening political dialogue. Particular attention was paid to organizing mutual visits at the highest and high levels, as well as implementing the Joint Action Plan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Romania for 2026–2028.
The Romanian side congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027–2028 term.
During the meeting, the parties also addressed expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, developing direct contacts between the business communities of both countries, and interacting on issues related to sanctions policy.
Jeenbek Kulubaev invited Minister Oana-Silvia Țoiu to visit the Kyrgyz Republic and to participate in the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25," scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan on October 21–23, 2027.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue working together to further develop Kyrgyz-Romanian relations.
