Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2026. /Kabar/. Former advisor to three US presidents, well-known scientist, expert on Central Asia Frederick Starr expressed his opinion on President Sadyr Zhaparov.
He noted that Sadyr Zhaparov is leading an effective government.
“President Zhaparov was able to solve a number of large and systemic problems. He promised to return the Kumtor gold mine to the people, and he kept his word. I would also like to emphasize that Zhaparov has launched projects related to water resources and is building hydroelectric power stations. However, his main advantage is his focus on human resources. President has shown himself to be an effective leader who has focused on a number of sectors, including education. And the start of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will bring changes not only to Kyrgyzstan, but entire region. I would also like to emphasize that Sadyr Zhaparov is paying equal attention to all regions of Kyrgyzstan. The opening of airports and the development of road connections are taking place everywhere. This strengthens ties within the country. Also, opportunities and projects open up the way for the development of Kyrgyzstan and Fergana Valley. Today, as a result of President Zhaparov’s actions, Kyrgyzstan’s role in this region has significantly strengthened,” he said.
