Bishkek, April 2, 2026. /Kabar/. Azzamkul Tashbekov, resident of Chymgen village in Leilek District, has become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the region by establishing strawberry cultivation in greenhouses. The results of his work, the exemplary cleanliness of the greenhouses and the high quality of the berries are now highly praised by everyone who visits his farm.

Currently, the gardener and his cooperative members are busy harvesting, while his wife oversees domestic sales. Thanks to their excellent taste, demand for their produce is consistently high: the price per kilogram of strawberries reaches 1,500 soms.
In addition to greenhouses, the entrepreneur also grows berries in open ground using drip irrigation. Azzamkul Tashbekov is one of 25 village residents who have joined the cooperative as part of a large-scale project to strengthen food systems in Batken region.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP).

As part of this initiative, the villagers also received specialized training on food security and improved nutrition. Thanks to the knowledge and support he gained, Tashbekov built two greenhouses on his 300-square-meter plot; he grows strawberries in one and cucumbers in the other.
"The strawberries, planted in November 2025, began producing a stable harvest as early as February of this year, confirming the effectiveness of modern agricultural technologies in the region," the statement says.
