Bishkek, Nov. 2, 2026 /Kabar/. The Governor’s Chess Cup took place in Bishkek on October 30–31, as reported by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
The competition was organized in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 196, dated June 3, 2026, titled "On Urgent Measures for the Development and Popularization of Chess in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026–2030."
The primary objectives of the tournament were to promote chess, identify young talent, and foster the development of the sport.
Following the tournament, the top-placing participants will earn the right to compete in national-level events.
