IMF praises Kyrgyzstan's current economic growth

Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2025. /Kabar/. First Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev met with Subir Lall, Deputy Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, during the talks, the parties discussed the current macroeconomic situation in Kyrgyzstan, the results of the recently concluded short-term IMF mission, and prospects for further cooperation aimed at supporting sustainable economic growth and strengthening economic policy.

Amangeldiev noted that in recent years, the country has demonstrated stable socioeconomic development, facilitated by consistent reforms and a comprehensive approach to developing priority sectors. He noted that the average annual economic growth rate over the past three years was 9.0%, and reached 10.0% in the first ten months of 2025.

Among key infrastructure projects, Daniyar Amangeldiev highlighted the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the Kambarata-Ata Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) project, the Barskoon-Bedel highway, and the affordable housing program.

Subir Lall, in turn, praised the current economic dynamics and the significance of the reforms being implemented in the country, emphasizing that "stable growth has been observed over the past four years—this is confirmed by international and national data." He also noted that "according to the 2024 results, Kyrgyzstan has become one of the world leaders in real GDP growth."

IMF representative noted that "the Kyrgyz Republic is becoming an exporting economy," and emphasized that Kyrgyzstan's improved integration into regional economic processes will ensure sustainable economic growth. Subir Lall also emphasized the stability of the banking system, the country's growing readiness for broader integration into global markets, and the need to attract foreign direct investment to maintain positive economic trends.

Subir Lall confirmed the IMF's readiness to continue providing analytical and advisory support and to facilitate the development of recommendations aimed at ensuring medium-term macroeconomic sustainability.

Following the meeting, the parties noted the constructive nature of the dialogue and expressed interest in further exchanging expert assessments and jointly working on practical steps aimed at sustainable and inclusive economic development in Kyrgyzstan.
