Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2026. /Kabar/. Issyk-Ata-2 small HPP, implemented with the financial support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, demonstrates stable and high productivity, the chairman of the fund, Artem Novikov reports.
He said that today he got visited with the commissioning of the facility and the actual indicators of electricity generation. The project was financed within the framework of the strategy to increase generating capacities to strengthen Kyrgyzstan's energy independence and meet domestic demand.
"After a year of construction work, the 4 MW hydroelectric power plant was commissioned on August 31 last year. The total volume of electricity generation is 27 million kWh per year and is currently being supplied to the country's power grids. Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund contributes to the implementation of the National Program for the Development of Kyrgyzstan until 2030 and systematically implements projects to support the energy sector," he said.
It is worth noting that the agreement for financing the Issyk-Ata-2 hydroelectric power plant in the amount of 409 thousand US dollars was signed in October 2024 through the partner bank - "O! Bank". In the first four months of 2025, the plant generated more than 14 million kWh of electricity, providing consumers of Issyk-Ata and neighboring regions with stable electricity.
