Bishkek, Nov.19, 2025. /Kabar/. Construction of Bazarbai Ata small hydroelectric power plant (HPP) has been completed and commissioned in the Kadamjai region of Batken oblast, located in the Maidan rural municipality, the regional administration reported.
The opening ceremony was attended by Aibek Shamenov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Batken oblast; Bayake Uulu, Akim of Bolotkan district; and local officials and residents.
The first unit of the HPP has been launched and is fully operational.
Its capacity is 200 kWh; the total installed capacity of the plant is 600 kW.
Private entrepreneur invested 8 million soms in the construction of the facility. In addition, the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund provided a loan of 8 million soms.
The commissioning of HPP will help alleviate the electricity shortage in the region. Ten people have been provided with jobs.
