KOICA to allocate $10 mln for clean air project in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2026. /Kabar/. On February 2, Minister Meder Mashiev met with delegation from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the ministry, the meeting focused on the implementation of a project to improve air quality in Kyrgyzstan, which will be implemented in Bishkek and the Chui region from 2026 to 2028.

The project, which includes grant assistance from the South Korean government in the amount of up to $10 million, aims to reduce pollutant emissions, develop a comprehensive air quality management plan, and implement environmentally friendly heating systems in public educational institutions.
