Issyk-Kul, Sept. 3, 2026. /Kabar/. Competitions in ordo game are being held in Kyrchyn. Melis Muzayev, ordo game judge told Kabar that matches have been taking place for the second day. Now the teams of Malaysia and Turkiye are competing.
“Currently, the Turkish state is leading in the game. And according to the results of the two days, Kyrgyzstan is leading in terms of the total number of points,” he said.
Melis Muzayev noted that there are still three days of games ahead. In total, 12 teams are competing in ordo game.
Ordo is one of the most widespread traditional Kyrgyz games, preserved from ancient times to the present day. The word “ordo” means “the khan’s headquarters” or “the khan’s palace.”
The game symbolically recreates a battle to capture the ruler’s seat of power. Ordo can be seen as a form of a strategic military map, historically used to teach warriors how to defeat an enemy. A circle drawn on the ground represents the territory of a state, and players develop tactics to simulate a battle.
Knocking out the khan piece symbolizes overthrowing the ruler from the throne. At its core, the game also reflects the importance of wise internal governance. Once inside the circle—symbolizing being in power-players must act with caution, strategy, and precision, demonstrating control and balanced decision-making.
