Bishkek, Feb. 20, 2025. /Kabar/. Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to France Sadyk Sher-Niyaz met on February 18, 2025 with Director of the Political Department of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Brice Roquefueil at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
The parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, emphasising the importance of further deepening of cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Special attention was paid to strengthening economic co-operation, including projects in the field of energy, renewable energy and tourism.
The ambassador confirmed Kyrgyzstan's interest in intensifying bilateral contacts and expressed hope for expanding the political dialogue by organizing high-level visits this year.
In this regard, the parties agreed on the visit of the Minister of Foreign Trade of France in May, this year, which will be combined with the Kyrgyz-French business forum in Bishkek.
They also agreed to organise visits to Paris of relevant ministers of Kyrgyzstan to exchange experience in the spheres of energy, health and tourism.
The sides discussed the issues of attracting French investments in the Kyrgyz Republic, including in the framework of the implementation of major projects, such as the construction of hydroelectric power station ‘Kambar-Ata-1’ and the development of ski resort ‘Three Peaks’.
In a multilateral format, the parties confirmed their readiness for mutual support in elected bodies and strengthening cooperation in international organisations.
During the meeting, the issue of employment of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in France for seasonal work was also discussed, considering successful examples of cooperation in this area with other European countries.
The parties emphasised the importance of cultural cooperation. The Ambassador informed about the holding of international cultural events in France, including the World Film Festival ‘Cinema Heritage’ and a new festival of classical music «Patrimoine Musical». The French side expressed readiness for further development of cultural and educational exchanges.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue open dialogue and joint work to strengthen Kyrgyz-French cooperation.
