Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers discusses issues of family, social protection, and children's rights

Bishkek, March 4, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, held a meeting of the National Council on Family, Gender Development, Social Protection, and Children's Rights, the Cabinet’s press service said.

The meeting of the National Council was attended by the Children's Rights Commissioner of the Kyrgyz Republic, members of the Jogorku Kenesh, heads of ministries and agencies, presidential plenipotentiary representatives in the regions, representatives of international organizations, and independent experts.

Seven issues were discussed during the meeting. Including:

- Results of monitoring the implementation of the Program for the Support and Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2026;

- Information on the implementation of the Concept of State Policy in the Sphere of Crime Prevention for 2022-2028 on the prevention of crime and suicide among children;

- Information on the results of monitoring the implementation of the Kyrgyz Government Program for Family Support and Child Protection for 2018-2028;

- Information on the preparation of the periodic report of the Kyrgyz Republic on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women;

- Discussion of the draft Procedure for Interaction between State Agencies Protecting and Safeguarding Children from Violence and Corporal Punishment, and the draft Procedure for Providing Assistance to Child Victims of Violence and Corporal Punishment;

- On the progress of implementing the Action Plan for the implementation of the concluding observations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child;

- creating a monitoring framework using digital tools for the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the concluding observations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Following the meeting, a number of decisions were made on the agenda items and a number of instructions were given to government agencies.

Furthermore, the National Council on Family, Gender Development, Social Protection, and Children's Rights' action plan for 2026 was approved.
