Bishkek, April 7, 2025. /Kabar/. The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in the United States and Canada, together with the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in Washington, organized a ceremonial celebration of the s Nooruz holiday on April 5.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the invited guests included a wide range of representatives of the diplomatic corps, the US State Department, think tanks, US government agencies, international financial organizations in Washington and representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora. The event was accompanied by cultural performances of each country and a presentation of national dishes.
As part of the popularization of Kyrgyz culture and identity, the event featured national dishes, Kyrgyz paraphernalia, an exhibition of folk art products, performance on the national instrument komuz, as well as a showing of tourist videos and presentations about the country.
In his speech, Ambassador Moldogaziev congratulated the fraternal countries on the holiday of Nooruz and emphasized the special significance of the current celebration. He noted that the celebration is taking place against the backdrop of the signing of the Treaty on the State Border by the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - a historic and important step towards ensuring stability and security in Central Asia. It is worth noting that this statement aroused particular interest and a positive response among the guests and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
The celebration ended with a show and award ceremony for the winners of the children's drawing competition on the theme of "Nooruz".
This joint event emphasized the common values and historical heritage of the Turkic countries, demonstrating the richness of national cultures. The contribution of the Kyrgyz side to the overall program allowed for a vivid presentation of national identity, promoting Kyrgyz culture and traditions, which also allowed for strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation with the host country.
