On February 19, 2025, within the framework of the official visit to the State of Kuwait, Jeenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, held a meeting with Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
During the meeting, Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev provided information on the ongoing reforms in the Kyrgyz Republic and the measures undertaken to improve the investment climate. He also proposed that the Kuwaiti side consider the possibility of investing in key sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy, including hydropower, transportation, tourism, and logistics.
The parties further discussed the current projects being implemented in collaboration with KFAED in the areas of road construction, energy, and infrastructure. Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev expressed his appreciation for the productive cooperation between the two sides and the interest shown in expanding investment relations, emphasizing that Kyrgyzstan is ready to engage with the Fund in the realization of mutually beneficial projects.
Director General of KFAED, Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, commended the efforts of the Kyrgyz government to create favorable conditions for foreign investors. He reaffirmed KFAED’s interest in exploring the investment projects proposed by the Kyrgyz Republic and in actively participating in their implementation.
