Bishkek, April 3, 2026. /Kabar/. Special representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for special assignments Bakyt Torobaev met with Tarutoko Shinji, Chairman of the Japan-Kyrgyzstan Economic Exchange Association (JKEEA).
According to the Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for the further development of Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation.
Bakyt Torobaev, recently appointed special representative of the President for special assignments, noted that in his new capacity he is responsible for the development of the real sector of the economy and attracting international investment.
In this regard, he emphasized that the Kyrgyz side is ready for mutually beneficial investment partnerships with all countries, including Japan.
Bakyt Torobaev congratulated Tarutoko Shinji on the establishment of the Association and noted that his many years of experience have contributed to building strong institutional ties between the countries. The establishment of the Association is viewed as a long-term mechanism for expanding bilateral cooperation and implementing joint economic initiatives.
The special representative of the President emphasized the positive dynamics of Kyrgyz-Japanese relations.
Bakyt Torobaev also noted that all Central Asian countries are developing dynamically and are seeking new technologies for economic development.
For his part, Tarutoko Shinji expressed the interest of Japanese companies in expanding cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, their readiness to actively participate in joint projects, and noted the importance of direct dialogue and institutional support for the successful development of economic and investment initiatives.
The parties agreed to develop cooperation and attract Japanese investment to the Kyrgyz economy. The growing interest of Japanese companies in various sectors was noted.
Priority areas remain healthcare, education, digital technologies, tourism, energy, infrastructure, as well as geological exploration and development of rare earth metal deposits.
