Issyk-Kul, Sept. 4, 2026 /Kabar/. The international poetry competition of Kyrgyz-Kazakh poets has concluded in Kyrchyn Gorge as part of the VI World Nomad Games. A total of 16 poets, 8 from Kyrgyzstan and 8 from Kazakhstan, took part in the three-day creative competition. Nurbek Talantbekov, director of the Kyrgyz National Manas Theater reports.
According to him, the international poetry competition of Kyrgyz-Kazakh poets was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy, the Manas National Theater and the Aitysh Foundation, and the prize fund amounted to 3 million soms.
“For three days, a wonderful performance was held in the Kyrchyn Gorge, glorifying the unity and solidarity of the people.
It was a great achievement and honor for us that Kazakh poets, in particular, spoke about the constructions, discoveries and achievements taking place in Kyrgyzstan, and proudly celebrated the successes of Kyrgyzstan on behalf of the Kazakh people.
The people also supported, accompanied, encouraged and cheered the poets day and night. This performance will not stop there. God willing, the performance of Kyrgyz-Kazakh poets will continue.
Elmirbek Imanaliev won the grand prize from the Kyrgyz poets, Nursultan Maldybaev took 1st place, Kutman Sadybakasov took 2nd place, and Akmatbek Sultan uulu took 3rd place.
Meirbek Sultankhan from Kazakhstan won the grand prize, Mukhtar Niyazov took 1st place, Haziret Berdikhan took 2nd place, and Nurlan Yesenkulov took 3rd place,” said Nurbek Talantbekov.
