Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2025. /Kabar/. As part of the official visit, on February 20, bilateral talks were held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties confirmed the high potential of bilateral cooperation and expressed their desire to bring Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti cooperation to a new qualitative level. In this context, the importance of intensifying the exchange of visits at the highest and high levels was emphasized.
During the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev conveyed a message from President Sadyr Zhaparov to the Emir of the State of Kuwait Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The talks covered a wide range of issues, including political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as interaction within international organizations. Current regional and international challenges of mutual interest were discussed.
Jeenbek Kulubaev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan views Kuwait as an important strategic partner and is interested in expanding and diversifying bilateral relations. In this context, the Kyrgyz side invited Kuwait to participate in the investment forum "Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf", which will be held in Kyrgyzstan in late June - early July 2025.
As part of the invitation, a message from the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev was conveyed to Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah. Abdullah Ali Al-Yahia confirmed Kuwait's interest in deepening bilateral relations and supported the initiative to create new mechanisms for cooperation between government agencies and the private sector.
At the end of the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev invited his Kuwaiti counterpart to pay a return visit to Kyrgyzstan, and Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya accepted the invitation, expressing his readiness to visit the country in the near future.
Following the talks, two key agreements were signed:
1) Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Joint Commission on Cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the State of Kuwait.
2) Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.
